How XP works
1. The short version
Every time you look after your eating habits, PlateWiz gives you XP (experience points). Collect enough and you move up a rank. A good day earns about 100 to 180 XP.
2. Logging meals
Each meal you log earns 10 XP, whether you snap a photo, scan a barcode, describe it in words or log a meal again.
Only the first 5 meals of a day count, so splitting one meal into lots of small logs doesn’t earn extra. A photo counts once PlateWiz has finished working out what’s on your plate.
3. Daily quests
You get the same four quests every day. You’ll find them on the Home screen, and they reset at midnight where you live.
Log 3 meals
Log at least three meals today.
Hit your protein
Eat at least your daily protein target, for example “Hit 120g protein”.
Land on your calorie target
Finish the day within 10% of your calorie target, not too far under or over.
Drink your water goal
Drink your daily water goal, which is set from your body weight.
Heads up: the calorie quest checks where you are right now. If you tick it off and then go well over your target later that day, it unticks and its XP goes away again.
4. Your streak bonus
Your streak is how many days in a row you’ve logged at least one meal. Every day you log, you get 2 XP for each day of your streak, up to 30 XP a day.
Miss a day and the bonus starts again from day 1. The XP you already earned stays yours.
5. An example day
Say you’re on day 6 of your streak. You log breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack, hit your protein, finish close to your calorie target, but forget to drink enough water.
6. The wizard ranks
Your total XP decides your rank. When you reach a new one, PlateWiz celebrates with you. Times below assume about 100 XP a day.

7. Common questions
I deleted a meal and my XP went down. Why?
Your XP always matches what you’ve actually logged. Remove a meal and the XP it earned goes with it. Edit a meal and your quests are checked again.
Can I earn XP for a day I forgot to log?
Yes. If you add meals to an earlier day, they earn XP for that day just like they would have at the time.
I used PlateWiz before ranks existed. Do I start from zero?
No. Everything you logged before counts, so you start at the rank your history has earned.
Do my weight or steps earn XP?
Not right now. XP comes from meals, the four daily quests and your streak.
Where do I see my rank?
Tap the Daily Quests card on the Home screen, or go to Progress → Wizard rank.
